Rangers are reportedly about to make a second bid for Matt Jansen of Blackburn Rovers. It's thought Dick Advocaat wants the striker to spearhead the attack on the Champions League. Fiorentina are rumoured to be lining up a £10m bid for Amoruso in the summer.

Rangers could sell Giovanni Van Bronckhorst if he refuses to sign a new contract in the summer. David Murray has vowed never to repeat the mistake he made when Brian Laudrup was allowed to go free. Dick Advocaat has told Lorenzo Amoruso to stop whingeing over a new contract. The manager has told him to wait until the summer, when his future will be sorted out one way or another.
David Murray has purchased Australian side Northern Spirit. The chairman is hoping to spread Rangers brand name and possibly use it as a feeder club for Rangers.
For tomorrows game against Dundee, Rangers have doubts over Wallace and Van Bronckhorst, while Wilson starts a 3 match suspension. Tero Pentilla may start his first game for the club.

Lorenzo Amoruso claims that David Murray is not making Jorge Albertz or himself feel wanted at Ibrox. The captain says that the club have never denied they are willing to sell them in the summer. Despite this the Italian is desperate to extend his contract.
Manchester City are interested in signing Andrei Kanchelskis. If the Main Road outfit clinch promotion to the Premiership, they will be strenghtening their squad. Kanchelskis has not ruled out a move back to England. The SFA have rejected Aberdeens appeal regarding the cup final ticket allocation. They have told the Dons to submit proposals for future years if they are unhappy, but this seasons allocation will stand.

Rangers chairman David Murray has confirmed that he will hold talks with Albertz and Amoruso about their futures. It's thought that if contract extensions can't be agreed, the club will sell them. The club have ended their interest in Turkish striker Serkan Aykut. A work permit couldn't be secured.
The Daily Mail reports that Everton manager Walter Smith is interested in signing Andrei Kanchelskis.

Jorge Albetz's agent will meet David Murray within the next couple of weeks to settle his future. It is thought that the Hammer will possibly sign a new contract.

Dick Advocaat has accused Celtic of showing a lack of respect for Rangers achievements. He said that if Celtic had won the title he would have congratulated them. The Rangers boss was pleased at the reaction of the Gers players to McAnespie's dangerous tackle on Gio Van Bronckhorst on Sunday. He says that the nastiness he called for earlier in the season is now there and the team are fighting for each other. Advocaat was critical of the new league set up next year with teams playing each other 3 times before the league splits into two. He has called on SPL chief executive Roget Mitchell to find the best solution now. According to the Daily Express, Jorge Albertz will stay at Rangers next season.

Rangers beat St Johnstone 2-0 in Perth. A crowd of 10,016 saw goals from Billy Dodds (42, 60) send Rangers 20 points clear at the top of the SPL, sealing the earliest ever Premier League title. Dick Advocaat was happy with the goals, but felt Dodds could have scored more.The manager is now planning next years campaign. Lorenzo Amoruso has said he wants to stay at Ibrox, despite a host of European clubs expressing interest on him.

Rangers are SPL Champions, after Celtic could only manage a draw against Hibs at Parkhead. Rangers manager Dick Advocaat says the best has yet to come from his team. The Little General promised that next year the side will be even better, with a major clearout of players who have no future at the club. He is convinced though that Negri can do a job for Rangers once hes has recovered from a back injury. Signing target Paul Ritchie hopes that he can still clinch a switch to Rangers in the summer. His transfer to Ibrox fell through last season after excessive demands from Hearts.

Rangers manager Dick Advocaat said that he will never spend £18m of the clubs money on just one player. Speaking as former Gers target Ruud Van Nistelrooy signed for Manchester United for that amount, Advocaat said it was "too risky". Lorenzo Amorusso's agent says that his client could be worth £10 in the summer if the club decide to sell him. For tomorrows game against St Johnstone Billy Dodds has made a speedy recovery from injury. For the Saints, Gary Bollan is suspended and Nathan Lowndes is injured.

Sergio Porrini has hit the comeback trail, and hopes to make the Scottish Cup Final, but fears that he will become surplus to requirements in the summer with the purchase of Fernando Ricksen. Porrini's contract is due to expire at the end of next summer and the club may prefer to cash in now, rather than lose the player for nothing. According to the Daily Mirror, Gordon Durie will be freed in the summer. Kilmarnock are keeping a close eye on the situation. Arthur Numan and Gio Van Bronckhorst have been called into the Dutch squad to face Scotland in Holland next Wednesday. And finally Aberdeen fans are contacting BBC's Watchdog programme in a bid to receive a 50/50 split of tickets for the scottish Cup Final.

Giovanni Van Bronckhorst has pledged to see out the remainder of his contract before moving to either Spain, Italy or England. The midfielder does not feel he is good enough to move there yet and feels another two years in Scotland wil improve him.
Aberdeen supporters are threatening to take the SFA to court over their ticket allocation for the Scottish Cup Final. The Dons ate to receive 17,600, just 400 short of what they were given for the CIS Cup final, but they wanted a 50/50 split this time. The Sun claims that Rangers will sell Rod Wallace in the summer if he refuses to sign a new contract. His current deal runs out at the end of next season, and he has been offered a new one.It's thought the club would rather sell than lose him for nothing then.

The ticket allocation for the Scottish Cup Final has been decided. Rangers will receive 24,600 and Aberdeen will be give 17,600.

Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso says he will snub Bayern Munich and Bareclona to stay at Rangers, and will only leave Ibrox if the club want to sell him. Rangers are leading the race to sign 18 year old Carlisle United wonderkid, Paul Reid. The highly rated central defender would cost in the region of £500,000. Jonatan Johansson has suffered an injury setback. He had to pull out of an U21 match because of a slight ankle knock. Dutch striker Michael Mols, will return to Scotland this week to watch the Gers hopefully wrap up the title in Perth against St Johnstone. Mols, currently based in Amsterdam, has promised he will be back next season as good as new.

Former Rangers defender Colin Hendry, has tipped Dick Advocaat to lead Gers to European success. He acknowledged the progress the club has made in the short time Advocaat has been manager and thinks they can improve further. Now at Coventry, Hendry said although his spell at Ibrox was brief, he enjoyed it.

Rangers captain Lorenzo Amoruso says that he is doesn't know if he will be fit for the Scottish Cup final. The Italian has been carrying an ankle injury for many weeks but has been forced to play because of the defensive injury crisis. Amo fears he will need an operation. Tugay has be assured that his place in the Turkish squad for Euro 2000 is safe. The midfielder has not started many games since his move from Galatasary, but the Turkish manager says Tugay is the first name on his list. Billy Dodds has withdrawn from the Scotland squad to face Holland. The striker was injured during the victory over Dundee United on Saturday.

According to the Sunday Mail, Bayern Munich are interested in signing Gers captain Lorenzo Amoruso. With his future uncertain, it's thought the German giants will move for Amo if it's decided in the summer that he is surplus to requirements. Dick Advocaat has said that Michael Mols may not be fit for Rangers early Champions League games next season. It's expected that although he will take part in pre season training, he will still need games and the CL will come to soon for him.

Rangers moved to within a point of the SPL title by beating Dundee United 2-0 at Tannadice. Goals from Ferguson(22) and Albertz(42), saw Rangers move 18 points clear at the top while Celtic could only draw 2-2 with Dundee. Craig Moore and Gio Van Bronckhorst have been short listed for Player of the Year, alongside Ian Durrant and Marc Viduka. Barry Ferguson has been short listed in the Young Player of the Year category. For todays match, Claudio Reyna is expected to be OK after a cold and Dundee United are without Hugh Davidson, Siggi Jonsson, and Leigh Jenkinson.

Scott Wilson has added to the Rangers defensive crisis by picking up a three match ban. The Gers will be hoping to wrap up the league before the ban takes effect in the matches with Dundee, Hibs and Kilmarnock. The Express reports that Rangers are trying to sign Atletico Madrid's Jimmy Floyd Hasselbaink. Advocaat has ruled out moves for Fowler and Serkan. A number of other clubs are also after the Dutch striker.

According to the "Sun", Rangers are about to launch a £10m bid for Robbie Fowler. The Liverpool stiker is coming back from injury and was watched this week by Gers chief scout Ewan Chester in a reserve game. Dick Advocaat is refusing to be drawn into the cotroversy surrounding Rod Wallace's goal at Tynecastle. Jambos boss Jim Jefferies claimed that Tugay had handled the ball. TV evidence after the match proved inconclusive. Advocaat said "The goal was excellent". Northern Ireland boss, Sammy McIlroy has urged Ulster kids Lee Feeney and Stephen Carson to leave Rangers. He fears that there is such a strong squad at Ibrox, that the youngsters will not make the breakthrough. McIlroy is desperate to include them in the full squad.

Rangers defeat Hearts at Tynecastle to go 16 points clear at the top of the SPL. A crowd of 16,314 saw Hearts take the lead in the 24th minute with a Gary McSwegan goal. Rangers equalised through Wallace (45) before Dodds (64) wrapped up the points.
Rangers defender Scott Wilson insists that his future lies away from Ibrox.Despite recent first team appearances, Wilson accepts than he will not feature once Craig Moore returns from injury. Moore could be back in action in three weeks. Jonatan Johansson is being targeted by Charlton Athletic. The London club are on course for a return to the English Premiership next season, and manager Alan Curbishly is renewing his interest in the Flying Finn. Turkish striker, Serkan, has pleaded with Dick Advocaat to bring him to Rangers. Serkan wants to travel to Scotland to see the Gers wrap up the title and is desperate to link up with Tugay. His club. Samsunspor will give him time off to travel to Glasgow. For tonights match against Hearts, Rangers have added Lionel Charbonnier and Bob Malcolm to the squad, while Jim Jefferies has no injury worries.

Aberdeen have demanded that tickets for next months Scottish Cup final be split 50-50 between both clubs. The Dons only had 5,000 fans at the semi-final despite the fact that the club heavily subsidised transport to Hampden. Rangers Secretary Campbell Ogilvie has asked the SFA to take both clubs average attendences into consideration. Rangers Supporters Association spokesman John MacMillan says that the Dons can not use day /time/location as an excuse for their low numbers on Sunday, because no fans have been more inconvenienced by TV demands than Rangers fans. Yet they still travel in large numbers. Fortuna Sittard operations manager, Jacques Opgenoord, believes that Kevin Hoffland should have chosen Rangers instead of PSV. He feels that he would have been joining a bigger club and could have learned more under Dick Advocaat. Dick Advocaat has been awarded Manager of the month for March.

Everton boss, Walter Smith, has insisted that there is no truth in the rumours that he is planning to swap Don Hutchison for Jorg Albertz. The formers Gers boss said that although he has heard this particular rumour before, he has never approached Rangers about the player. Albertz was subbed at half time on Saturday according to Dick Advocaat because ''If you're not right in the head, you can't be right in the legs.'' It looks like Rangers signing target, Kevin Hoffland, has opted for PSV. The player feels that a big move abroad will happen later in his career.

Rangers manager Dick Advocaat was very unhappy with the teams first half performance. He felt that the team played so badly that he could have substituted all of them. Dick Advocaat has failed in a last minute attempt to sign Dutch striker Ruud Van Nistelrooy. The £20m rated striker will not come to Scotland, prefering the lure of the English premiership. Advocaat also looked into the signing of Jardel from Porto, but the Gers manager felt his wage demands were excessive. Dick Advocaat was pleased with the result, but unhappy by the teams first half performance. Dick Advocaat has slammed Lorenzo Amoruso's agent for going public over his clients future. The Gers manager says that the agent is trying to up the ante of a new contract or make money on a transfer. Advocaat insists that Amo's future will be sorted out in the summer and the club will not go public with the discussions. Rangers are planning to take a stake in Australian side Northern Spirit according to the Daily Mail. It would give the club the chance to snap up the cream of Oz footballing talent. The club are expecting Kevin Hoffland to make his decision early next week. PSV and Feyernoord are also after the highly rated defender. For Saturdays Scottish Cup semi-final, Rangers have Gio Van Bronckhorst back after injury, but Tony Vidmar is still out. Update..... Rangers have agreed a £3m fee with Fortuna Sittard for defender Kevin Hoffland. The player was in Glasgow last night to watch Rangers 3-0 victory over Dundee United. Offers have also been accepted from PSV and Feyernoord, the club are leaving it up to the player to decide his eventual destination. Dick Advocaat hailed Neil McCann for turning the game against Dundee United around. The manager feels that the winger gave Rangers the vital cutting edge needed to break down a stubborn 10 man defence. Jorg Albertz has pleaded with the fans to turn up the volume. The Hammer says the team play better with the crowd cheering them on. Rangers Australian stars won't have a summer break this year. Oz manager Frank Farina wants them for the Oceania Nations Cup in June as well as a couple of friendly games. A crowd of 45,721 watched Rangers go 16 points clear at the top of the SPL with a 3-0 win over Dundee United. Second half goals from Albertz(62), Dodds(66) and Wallace(72) secured all three points. Manager Dick Advocaat was happy with the second half performance from his team. Tonights match against Dundee United, is Dick Advocaats 100th game in charge of the club. Jonatan Johansson has been dropped to the U21 squad to work on his fitness, Seb Rozenthal has been drafted in to the squad in his place. Gio Van Bronckhorst is included, but a late decision will be made on his fitness. Dundee United have doubts over the fitness of David Hannah(dead leg). Rod Wallace says that several Rangers players are worried about their Ibrox futures, with the acquisition of new players in the summer. Wallace has been offered an extension to his contract and reassured by Advocaat that he does have a future, but is in no hurry to re-sign. Rangers are to probe claims that new investor, Dave King,is at the centre of a financial scandal in South Africa. It is alleged that King is under investigation for illegal share dealing. Claudio Reyna has been called up to the USA squad for their game against Russia in April 26th. Although only a friendly, it will be the American's first visit to Moscow and American coach, Bruce Arena, wants his strongest possible squad for the historic trip. The move is unlikely to please Dick Advocaat, who is concerned at the loss of key members of his squad at such a vital time of the season.

It is reported that Rangers chairman, David Murray, is finalising a money spinning plan that will lift Rangers onto a different level, easily topping the £40m invested by Joe Lewis. It's thought that the strategy will move Rangers onto an equal financial footing with the biggest clubs in Europe and allow Advocaat to purchase top quality players. Jonathan Johannsson made his first appearance since sustaining an ankle injury in the CIS Cup match with Aberdeen. He played in the second half of the Old Firm U21 match yesterday. Rangers won 3-1, with two goals from Seb Rozenthal and one from Lee Feeney.

The Rangers players and manager revealed that pre-match boasts by Celtic players, especially Johan Mjallby, fired them up for victory. Mjallby claimed that Celtic were a better team and would beat Rangers easily. Jorg Albertz stated that the Rangers camp kept quiet and decided to do their talking on the park, where it counted. In a post match press conference, Advocaat said that Rangers do not get the credit they deserve.The Ibrox boss said that after reading comments in the press in the build up to the match, he had to remind himself that it was Rangers who were 12 points clear. Meanwhile Celtic caretaker boss Kenny Dalglish was asked if he had any comments regarding Celtic fans disgraceful chants about Davie Cooper's death. He replied "No, I never heard them".

A crowd of 50,039 watched as goals by Albertz (4,84) Kanchelskis(41) and Van Bronckhorst stretched Rangers lead to a massive 15 points at the top, but Advocaat insists that with 10 games still to go, the league is not yet wrapped up. Meanwhile Rangers signing target Fernando Ricksen has revealed that he snubbed AZ Alkmaar's offer of a 15 year contract. The highly rated right back also had offers from Newcastle United and Middlesbrough but had his heart set on a move to Ibrox. It was reported in the Sunday Mirror that Everton Boss Walter Smith, is to make a £2.5m bid for Jorg Albertz. However it is unlikely that Albertz would be allowed to leave for a Premiership club for such a small fee.

Craig Moore is out of Sundays Old Firm game. The central defender, who has been outstanding for Rangers this season, picked up a knee injury during the St Johnstone game and may require a minor operation. A decision will be taken next week. Gers gaffer Dick Advocaat is hoping a couple of weeks rest will be enough. Tony Vidmar is also out, but Arthur Numan has declared himself fit. Scott Wilson and Tero Pentilla are in contention for a starting place. Captain Lorenzo Amoruso has still not fully recovered from injury, but will play. The Daily Mirror claims that a £4m deal to sign AZ Alkmaar's right back Fernando Ricksen will be concluded next week.

Craig Moore's chances of playing in Sundays Old Firm Clash have been ruled out due to the injury sustained last week, he is now possibly looking at surgery.

Meanwhile Jonatan Johansson resumed training on Monday and is hoping to play in next weeks Old Firm U21 game. Toulouse are interested in signing Lionel Charbonnier. They are hoping to tie up a deal with David Murray this week. Rangers new Youth Development Officer, Jan Derks, has criticised the structure of football in Scotland. He said that there should be just one body organising the Scottish game. He stressed that there is talented young footballers in Scotland, but they are being let down by the set up.

There are conflicting reports about the deal in Wednesdays newspapers. The Daylate Rebel claims that the player is on his way to Fenerbache in Turkey, but the Express claims Borussia Dortmund are interested but Lokvenc would prefer to come to Rangers. Rangers have been linked with Sparta Prague striker, Vratislav Lokvenc. The club have reportedly tabled a £3m bid for the player. The 27 year old has Champions League experience and has scored 15 goals this season in the Czech league. Hertha Berlin and Derby County have also expressed an interest. Fernando Ricksen's agent, Henk Van Ginkel, has confirmed that the player has set his heart on a move to Rangers, but has warned his client against taking AZ Alkmaar to court, claiming that the highly rated right back could end up costing Rangers more as a result. Chilean boss Nelson Acosta has boosted Rangers Old Firm preparations by leaving out Sebastian Rozenthal from his squad to face Argentina in their World Cup qualifying match. He also said that Seb Rozenthal would have to find some ''fighting spirit'' if he wanted to retain his starting place. Meanwhile Sergio Porrini has more or less ruled out playing for Rangers again this season. He aims to be fully fit for pre-season training and says he has no problem in seeing out the remainder of his contract. It has been reported that former Gers boss Graeme Souness is interested in signing Scott Wilson for Blackburn Rovers. The young central defender is now resigned to leaving Rangers to find first team football.

A crowd of 49,622 watched as Rangers defeated Motherwell 6-2. A hat trick by Rod Wallace ( 20, 42, 70 ) and goals by Rozenthal (29 pen ), Albertz ( 35 ) and Tugay ( 90 pen ). Rangers Chaiman David Murray has reacted cautiously to reports that the European Union will allow UEFA to introduce a "6 Scot Rule". Only allowing teams to field 5 foreigners. He said: "My first impression is that this would be a restrictive practice. We would simply have to deal with whichever hurdle was put in our way as we have in the past". The plan is backed by SFA chief executive David Taylor.
